Get started by cutting lengths of pine lattice, decorating with evergreen, then attaching boughs to the wall with hook-and-loop tape tabs. Our project was designed to fit in a smaller space, but you can adjust the dimensions as desired—just make sure to leave space at the bottom for presents.

Step 1: Cut Lengths of Lattice
Measure and mark lengths of pine lattice. You’ll need seven pieces total, one each of the following lengths: 4 inches, 8 inches, 12 inches, 16 inches, 20 inches, 24 inches, and 28 inches. Once you’ve marked all of the measurements, cut through the lattice with a miter saw. Christmas Decor for the Front Door
Step 2: Adorn Lattice
Hot-glue layers of evergreen and other holiday greens to each piece of lattice. Add ornaments, pinecones, and any other decorative elements as desired. Editor’s Tip: As you decorate your “tree,” lay out the pine pieces the way they’ll eventually hang on the wall. The 4-inch piece will be the top of the tree, while the 28-inch piece is the bottom. This allows you to get a feel for the full effect and ensures the pieces will lay flat against the wall.
Step 3: Attach Tape
Place hook-and-loop tape tabs on each piece of lattice. All lattice pieces need two tabs except for the 4-inch piece, which only needs one. Look for damage-free tape, such as the Command line, to protect walls once the holiday season is over and it’s time to put away the tree.
Step 4: Cut Spacing Template
Cut a template from cardboard that is 4 inches wide. You’ll use this piece to ensure equal spacing between your tree branches. Our Most Genius Holiday Hacks
Step 5: Attach to Wall
Attach pieces of lattice to the wall, using the cardboard template as a spacing guide. Start from the bottom with the largest piece, then work your way up with smaller pieces. Make sure the first lattice piece you place is level before attaching it to the wall. If you have one uneven bough, all of the others will look off, too. After Christmas, remove tape tabs according to package directions.
